Status Update: MSS Patrols and Decisive Operations in Haiti

Port-au-Prince, Haiti – The Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS), in close collaboration with the Haitian National Police (PNH), continues to conduct both static and mobile patrols around the clock in Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas, including Petite Rivière, Liancourt, and Pont Sondé. These joint operations have played a vital role in maintaining stability and security, enabling the successful and uninterrupted completion of the recent National Secondary IV (NS4) Examinations.

As MSS enters a decisive phase of operations, the mission’s partnership with the PNH remains instrumental in bolstering security efforts across critical locations.

In addition to patrols, MSS personnel have been safeguarding key national infrastructure, including Haiti’s main international airport, seaport and other strategic assets. Despite continued efforts by armed gangs to block major roadways, MSS and PNH forces have effectively reopened key routes in Downtown Port-au-Prince, Kenscoff, Furcy, Delmas, Thomassin, and Teleco, among others—facilitating mobility and public safety.

Joint security forces have successfully repelled multiple gang attacks, including attempted assaults on the Telesco in Port-au-Prince and Petite Revierre Police Station in Pont Sondé, as well as incidents in the Pétion-Ville area. Swift and coordinated responses by MSS troops have neutralized these threats, demonstrating growing effectiveness and resilience in the face of escalating violence.

The establishment and operation of Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) in Pont Sondé, Downtown, and at the Police Academy have significantly improved security in those areas. These FOBs have enabled increased patrol frequency, faster response times to emerging threats, and a more sustained presence of MSS personnel in previously underserved and gang-affected areas.

The solidarity shown by members of the diplomatic corps and other stakeholders through courtesy visits reflects a shared commitment to restoring lasting peace and stability in Haiti.
